Sarah Groh is the owner and founder of Sarah Sit and Play. Sarah and her team believe in the company's mission and look forward to house & pet sitting for you. Sarah is an entrepreneur at heart and loves the relationship-building and logistics it takes to lead a team. Her background in music and teaching shows her patience and ability to listen to the needs of clients and their pets. Sit and Play - est. 2022.
Meet Our Current Team
Sarah C - My background is in social work and massage therapy - I enjoy helping people - and what drew me to home/pet sitting is that I love animals and giving people peace of mind while they are away. As a massage therapist, you could say that I'm a professional at petting! I have a very calm and grounded demeanor that allows your fur babies to feel comfortable with me from the get go. I can't wait to treat your dogs and cats just like they were my own!
Tessandra - I am a 2025 graduate of UCCS with a major in music. I currently work in Colorado Springs as a community organizer and singer of my own pop band. I love meeting new pets and people, as well as, filling the gap - caring for pets when the owners need to get away. I have been a pet sitter (Cat Specialist) since 2023.
Marilyn - I am a native of Colorado Springs, and a graduate of Wasson High School and UNC Greeley, CO. I am a Retired Teacher of 43 years, teaching English as a Second Language in Johnstown-Milliken, CO (3 years) Bilingual Elementary School. (7 years) International Schools in Quito, Ecuador (14 years) Alternative Jr./Sr. High School English Conversation Teacher. Hanno, Saitama, Japan (17 years) Colorado Springs School District 11 ESL teacher, Coach, and Teacher Educator — Fluent in Spanish and Conversational in Japanese - Mother & Grandmother - Nature & Pet Lover
Along with teaching in the US, I have completed as many years as a pet sitter in each of these countries.
Jorden - I am a music student at UCCS, graduating in 2026. I play guitar, piano, and percussion to create my own compositions and lead my own classical combo. I moved to Colorado from California for school. I love caring for the pet and giving each client peace of mind while they are away. I have been a sitter since 2022.
Ellen - I’m a graduate of Air Academy. Currently, I am a junior at CSU in Fort Collins. I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, chickens, and horses and have cared for them most of my life. Our pets have always been treated and seen as members of my family. I look forward to spending the summer using my pet knowledge to watch your family members, ensuring you have a restful and worry-free time away.
Claire and Rowen - Claire. I've always loved animals and lived with dogs most of my life. I live with my husband, our daughter, and a variety of animals. We currently have dogs, guinea pigs, and chickens. During the school year, I am a special education paraprofessional at a local elementary school. I am also a travel agent specializing in Disney. We previously owned a hobby farm where we raised ducks for eggs and had a variety of wonderful barn cats.
My daughter Rowan is my sidekick and will join me in pet sitting when appropriate. She loves animals and calls out dogs her brothers.
Josiah - I grew up in Colorado Springs and have enjoyed taking care of my own family pets all of my life! I have enjoyed working for Sarah Sit and Play for 1 year now. I take sits when I am home from college, UC Boulder, on summer and holiday breaks. I have done many “last minute/emergency” sits for some great clients and fuzzy friends, and reptiles!
Thea - I am a graduate of Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2024, I began teaching in the Harrison District 2. I also am a fluent Spanish speaker.
